Corbenic Poetry Path
The Corbenic Poetry Path is a unique place within the grounds of Corbenic Camphill Community, created over many years as a space for calm, reflection and shared experience. Poetry, sculpture and landscape combine to form a walking path designed not for attraction, but for slowing down.
When we were asked to create a website, a standard brochure approach was never going to be enough. The challenge was to design a digital experience that felt aligned with the physical one, without over-explaining or diluting it.
With cinematic websites, we don’t start with platforms or interface patterns. We start with film. Atmosphere, rhythm and intent are established first, and the digital experience is then shaped carefully around that foundation.
We spent time on the path itself, filming the landscape, the sculptures and the surrounding environment, and capturing conversations with the people behind the project. We also filmed Jon, Corbenic’s chief executive and a poet himself, reading one of his poems about the path, embedding that moment of stillness directly into the site.
The website was designed as a container for the films rather than a layer competing with them. Pace, silence and restraint shaped the structure, allowing visitors to slow down rather than scroll through. The result is a digital experience built around atmosphere and intent, not features or interaction.
After launch, feedback from the client described the site as “almost as good as being here”. That feedback has since shaped how we approach experiential digital work. When a website represents a place or a way of being, our role is not to document it, but to establish enough atmosphere and intent that the digital experience feels meaningfully connected to the real one.
